MELODI Mobility Programme for students

MELODI (Multidisciplinary European Low Dose Initiative) is a European Platform dedicated to low dose ionizing radiation risk research, including basic mechanisms, health risk evaluation, and impact of radiation exposure characteristics. The Education and Training Working Group is supporting the goal of MELODI to coordinate and build long term competence following its statutes and Strategic Research Agenda (SRA).

To achieve this, the following objectives are pursued to identify, support, foster and promote E&T initiatives at all levels:
  • entry level for attracting new students;
  • graduate and post-graduate level for helping students in a research career;
  • young scientist assistance and networking;
  • continuing professional career development of scientists in the area of low-dose research.
To help achieve these objectives, the MELODI Education and Training Working Group are delighted to announce the establishment of the MELODI Mobility Programmeoffering a total of €5,000 per year from 2021 onwards for travel awards to early career scientists, PhD and MSc students. The intention is to financially support participation in a conference, a course, a visit, an internship or enable a student exchange to carry out scientific research, all in order to increase the applicant’s involvement and knowledge/skills in European research in radiation protection. Given the current pandemic situation, online participation to training courses and conferences are eligible provided that proof of active participation can be provided.

The programme will seek applications twice a year, at the end of March and September, and the first submission deadline will be 1st September 2021.  The maximal level of support per applicant will be €625.
